Smart regions, new ways of working, Generation Y, innovations and start-ups, women’s empowerment in the countryside and the food of the future are just some of Mareike Meyn’s topics. She addresses the challenges of rural areas, in particular digitalization, and connects political Berlin with the local level without losing sight of other countries.

Mareike has been a referee at the Andreas Hermes Akademie since 2015 and Director Platform Rural Areas since 2017. She studied politics, ethnology and sociology in Trier, China and the USA. Mareike is a qualified trainer, moderator and design thinking facilitator. Since May 2023, Mareike has been Director of Rural Development.
