An African proverb says:
If you want to go fast, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.

Nicole Bolomey is convinced that only on the basis of a respectful relationship can one accompany people on their journey. With this approach, she has been leading and developing the International Cooperation department at the Andreas Hermes Akademie since 2015 – today with a competent, diverse team.

Nicole has been working in development cooperation since 2000, with a focus on the regions of South Asia, East and West Africa. During that time, she spent nine years at UNESCO working on various programs dealing with issues of good governance, the importance of community action, urban and rural development, and dialogue between politics, business and local people. Nicole studied landscape architecture and planning, as well as heritage conservation. In addition to a teaching position at the University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil and an assistantship at the EPFL, she successfully ran her own planning office and did volunteer work.
